Afghanistan and Tajikistan are among the new sensations, and their fans would be delighted to see their players competing in the biggest tournament of the Futsal world. They qualified alongside Thailand and Iran at the AFC Asian Futsal Cup and will be part of this year’s Fifa Futsal World Cup, scheduled from 14^th September to 6^th October in Uzbekistan.

Iran were the Asia Cup winners, Thailand were the runners-up, and Tajikistan finished fourth. Luck played in for Afghanistan as they qualified despite securing the fifth spot in the qualifiers because third-placed Uzbekistan had already qualified for the mega event as hosts.

It would be exciting to see four former champions at the Futsal World Cup 2024. Five-time world champions Brazil, two-time champions Spain, defending champions Portugal, and Argentina will all be competing for the title at this year’s world event. OFC Futsal Nations Cup 2023

New Zealand won the OFC Futsal Nations Cup two times in a row. The title win in 2023 earned them a spot in the Futsal World Cup 2024.

Copa América de Futsal 2024

The event was held in Paraguay in February 2024, where the 10 best teams from South America competed with the ultimate goal of securing a Futsal World Cup berth. Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and Paraguay finished the event as the top 4 teams respectively, and earned a flight to Uzbekistan 2024.

FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers 2024

The 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers were played between 48 UEFA teams, with 7 World Cup tickets on the line. The teams that qualified for the mega event from the Qualifiers include:

• Kazakhstan (won the Elite Round Group A)
• Ukraine (won the Elite Round Group B)
• France (won the Elite Round Group C)
• Spain (won the Elite Round Group D)
• Portugal (won the Elite Round Group E)
• Croatia (won the Elite Round Play-Offs)
• Netherlands (won the Elite Round Play-Offs)

The Futsal World Cup Qualifiers started in 2022 and concluded in April 2024. Kazakhstan were the first team to qualify for the World Cup on December 14, 2023, while the Netherlands were the last to qualify on 17^th April 2024.

Futsal Africa Cup of Nations

This tournament is played between the member nations of the Confederation of African Football. Morocco won their third consecutive title this year, defeating Angola in the Final. Morocco, Angola, and Libya qualified for the Futsal World Cup from this tournament.

CONCACAF Futsal Championship 2024

The championship featured 12 teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Four teams qualified from this event for the Futsal World Cup by securing the top 4 positions in the event. Panama were the winners while Cuba finished as runners-up. Guatemala and Costa Rica were placed third and fourth respectively and managed to find a place in the list of qualified Futsal World Cup 2024 teams.

AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2024

The Asian tournament was organized by the Asian Football Confederation in Thailand, where 16 teams competed with the hopes of booking a World Cup ticket. Iran won the title by defeating Thailand, as they both qualified for the mega event. Tajikistan finished fourth in the tournament, while Afghanistan won a play-off to secure their spot in the World Cup. Even though Uzbekistan finished third in the tournament, their position was irrelevant because they qualified as the hosts. As a result, Afghanistan got a chance to qualify for their debut World Cup despite finishing 5^th in the tournament.

Fifa Futsal World Cup Debutants

New Zealand, France, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan will be playing their first World Cup event. The teams made it to the final 24 by putting up excellent displays at the Futsal World Cup 2024 Qualifiers and their respective regional tournaments.

Their fans will be excited and have high hopes for the event. Especially, Afghanistan are a very dynamic team and an exuberant nation. They are very passionate about their sports and will expect their team to set the event ablaze with their skillful performances.

Notable Teams That Didn’t Qualify For World Cup

Egypt, Japan, the Czech Republic, Vietnam, the USA, and Serbia who played in the last World Cup could not qualify this time around. Australia will be missing their second consecutive World Cup event, as they couldn’t make it to the last four at this year’s AFC Futsal Cup.

The Road To Glory – Futsal World Cup 2024

The qualifications are now complete, and we have the final line-up of the Futsal World Cup 2024 Teams that will be competing for the title. The Futsal World Cup 2024 Draw will be performed on May 26, 2024 to decide the fixtures for the mega event.

The draw will result in 6 groups of 4 teams that will battle for glory at the Futsal World Cup. Once the group stage matches are over, 6 group winners and 6 runners-up will make it to the Round of 16 alongside 4 best third-placed teams of the event. It will commence the knockout stage of the event, leading into the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 Final.

The event will be played across three cities in Uzbekistan, including Tashkent (the capital), Andijan in the Fergana Valley, and the ancient trading hub of the Silk Road, Bukhara.
