Spain to Play Two Friendlies in Tajikistan Before Arriving at the World Cup

The Spanish Futsal team will leave for Tajikistan on Sunday where they will face Tajikistan and the Netherlands Futsal teams for the final stretch of their World Cup preparations.

After defeating Costa Rica 4-0 in their last friendly fixture at home, the Spanish team will now travel to Asia on Sunday where their first stop will be Tajikistan. Their World Cup preparations will end with two friendly fixtures here. They will play the first game on September 5 against Tajikistan and the second one on September 7 against the Netherlands.

The expedition led by Fede Vidal will include 16 Spanish players, including Javi Minguez who is part of their training camp. Minguez will travel with the squad to Tajikistan as well as Uzbekistan. The Spanish coach must communicate his final 14 to FIFA until September 4. However, the final list of players in the World Cup squad can be modified up to 24 hours before their first game at the mega event if any player gets injured.

Spain played their last home friendly on Wednesday against Costa Rica, and they dominated the opposition throughout the game. Fede Vidal’s men displayed superiority in every aspect, even when they were playing with fewer players in the second half after Didac was sent out with a red card. Their final preparation at home couldn’t have been any better than this.

Spain are drawn into Group D of the FIFA Futsal World Cup with Kazakhstan, Libya, and New Zealand. They will play their first game on September 15 against Kazakhstan and will face Libya on September 18. Their final game of the group stage is scheduled on September 21 against New Zealand. The Spanish Futsal fans can watch all the matches live on Teledeporte and show support for the national team.
