The thrilling quarter-final game went toe-to-toe in the first half, with both teams trying desperately to score but not getting the result in their favor. Both Higuita and Sarmiento were spectacular at the goal.

Argentina changed gears in the second half and the game started tilting in their favor in front of a loud, pro-Kazakhstan crowd.

Argentina took the lead in early the second half when Matias Rosa wickedly deflected the ball from Taborda into the net, leaving Higuita clueless. Shortly after the first goal, Claudino converted for Argentina to make it 2-0.

While Kazakhstan were trying hard to pull one back, it wasn’t that easy. Meanwhile, Kevin Arrieta and Sebastian Corso scored to give Argentina firm control of the game.

Tursagulov pulled one back in the 34th minute of the game, but Lucas Bolo scored in the same minute to increase the lead again. Kevin Arrieta scored again two minutes later to complete his brace and helped the Albiceleste to secure a semi-final berth with a dominating 6-1 victory.

Argentina will play France in the semi-final on Thursday, October 3.
