France created history by reaching the semi-finals in their first-ever FIFA Futsal World Cup. Abdessamad Mohammed was the star of the quarterfinal against Paraguay, setting up the first goal artistically and scoring the second classily.
It was a close game and both teams went goalless at half time. France got into the lead with Ouassini Guirio’s strike early in the second half after Souheil Mouhoudine and Abdessamad Mohammed set it up with fantastic footwork.
Francisco Martinez equalized for Paraguay six minutes later. Eventually, it was Abdessamad Mohammed to score the winning goal for France.
France will head to Tashkent now and will face Argentina in the semifinal on Thursday.
