UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027: Final Lineup Confirmed as Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Hungary, Poland Qualify
The road to Croatia is officially complete. Sunday’s results wrapped up the elite round of UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027 qualifying, and seven of the eight teams heading to Osijek next March are now confirmed — with one last ticket still to be decided.
Holders Spain, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Italy and Sweden all booked their places directly, joining hosts Croatia at Arena Gradski Vrt from 14 to 21 March 2027. For the first time, the finals will feature eight teams instead of four — and three of the qualifiers will be making their debuts.
Portugal leave nothing to chance
Portugal needed a result in Sunday’s group decider against Finland, and they delivered. A 3-0 win in front of their home fans sealed top spot in Group 1, and the two-time runners-up did it in style: maximum points and not a single goal conceded across the whole elite round.
That keeps Portugal level with Spain as the only sides to have qualified for all four editions of the tournament. After losing the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup final to Brazil, they will arrive in Croatia determined to finally go one better in Europe.
Finland are not done yet. As one of the two lowest-ranked runners-up, they drop into November’s home-and-away play-off, where the tie is decided over two legs.
Italy and Sweden’s patience pays off
Saturday’s results decided the best runners-up race. Italy’s 4-0 win over France proved enough to send the Azzurre through as one of the two best second-placed teams — the best runners-up decided by points and goal difference across the four groups — and that means a first-ever finals appearance for Italy. Sweet consolation after their narrow 2-1 loss to Spain in Thursday’s group decider.
Sweden took the other best runners-up spot after finishing second in Group 2 behind Hungary. The Swedes are heading to their first UEFA futsal final tournament, while Hungary — winners of all three of their matches — qualified for a third edition in succession.
Poland topple giants; Ukraine miss out
Group 4 produced the round’s biggest storylines. Debutants Poland topped the group on home soil to book a first finals appearance alongside Croatia, Italy and Sweden. Norway finished second and will face Finland in November’s play-off for the last ticket to Osijek.
The real shock: 2023 runners-up Ukraine missed out on the finals for the first time ever. A 3-3 draw with Poland on Saturday ended their campaign, after they had already lost to Norway earlier in the round.
Spain still the team to beat
Spain remain the favourites — and it is no surprise when you look at where they sit in the FIFA futsal rankings. The holders have won all three previous editions, came through the elite round with maximum points including Thursday’s 2-1 win over Italy, and took bronze at the 2025 Women’s World Cup.
With the tournament expanding to eight teams, March’s finals in Osijek promise the deepest field women’s European futsal has ever seen. The last piece of the puzzle falls into place in November, when Finland and Norway meet over two legs for the final qualifying spot.
