Spain Beat Morocco 4-2 in the first Friendly Fixture in Rabat

Adolfito, Mellado star in a futsal friendly between Spain and Morocco as the visitors claim a 4-2 victory in a close finish. The two teams have their sights at the Futsal World Cup 2024 as they prepare for the mega event.

Spain aced Morocco in yesterday’s friendly match in Rabat, securing a commanding 4-2 victory over the home side. The friendly futsal match was played at the Mohammed VI Complex, as the two teams prepare for the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 starting next month.

Spain had an emphatic start to the game with Adolfito, Miguel Mellado, Tomaz, Jesus Herrero, and Raul Campos in the starting lineup. They scored a lucky opener in the second minute of the game, as Mellado’s shot hit the crossbar and Campos put it in on the rebound.

After the initial strike from Spain, Morocco started to gain control with their quick and precise passing and agile movement. They had a couple of chances but couldn’t level the scoreline, as Anas El-Ayyane’s strike was denied by Herrero and then Anas Dahani’s shot went off the post. Spain, however, didn’t miss the chance they got just before the half-time and Mellado helped them consolidate the lead by scoring on the counter.

Morocco came back strong in the second half and kept attacking before Soufiane El Mesrar helped them narrow down the deficit. However, soon after El Mesrar’s strike, Adolfito scored on the rebound to extend the lead again, making the score line 3-1.

Spain kept pushing even after having their lead restored and finally made it 4-1 when Adolfito converted another goal on a pass from Campos. Otmane Boumezou scored the second goal for Morocco but it was nothing more than a consolation at that stage of the game.

Even though Spain looked more dominant and ended up winning the game, both the teams displayed wonderful skill and impressive ball control. They looked competitive right throughout the game and gave their fans some spectacular moments to cherish.

The two teams will face each other at the same venue on Wednesday in the second friendly fixture. Spain’s tour to Morocco will end with the second game and they’ll leave for Ferrol after resting for three days to play another friendly against Hungary on 22nd August, concluding their preparations for the Futsal World Cup 2022.

Morocco will play two more friendlies against the world cup host Uzbekistan on September 1 and September 2 before they start their World Cup campaign.
