Brazil dominated arch-rivals Argentina to end their 12-year World Title drought, as they won their sixth FIFA Futsal World Cup title in the history of the tournament. Ferrao and Rafa scored the goals for Brazil in the first half, and later it was all aesthetic display of amazing goal-keeping skills by Willian to take the Selecao to the final glory.
Brazil were in control right from the beginning when Ferrao scored the first goal in only the sixth minute of the game. Leandro Lino won them a free-kick with his wonderful footwork and ball skills. Ferrao converted it to put his team in the lead. A few minutes later, Rafa doubled the advantage by sending Felipe Valerio’s cross into the back of the net.
Argentina kept pressing hard, but it wasn’t their day. Marlon and Willian were simply outstanding to deny every attack from the opposition. With only six minutes remaining in the game, Argentina employed the flying goalkeeper and managed to reduce the deficit as Matias Rosa converted one on the rebound.
Brazil held their nerves in the last few minutes of the game and didn’t allow Argentina to level the scores, claiming the title by winning the biggest-ever Futsal World Cup Final.
