Hicham Dguig Names Morocco’s Final 14 for Futsal World Cup 2024

Morocco are set to play Portugal, Tajikistan, and Panama in Group E at Uzbekistan 2024 later this month.

Morocco’s Futsal coach, Hicham Dguig, today announced the names of 14 players who will represent Morocco at the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024.

Some of the key players in the Morocco Squad for the mega event include Soufiane Charraoui, Othmane El Idrissi, Soufiane El Mesrar, Idriss Raiss El Fenni, and Anas Dahani.

Other players in the final 14 are Abdekrim Anbia, Youssef Bensellam, Mohammed Cheridou, Soufiane Bourite, Othmane Boumezou, Ismail Amazal, Mohammed Kamal, Khalid Bouzid, and Anas El Ayyane.

Morocco have seen great progress over the years and the team managed to achieve a major milestone in May 2021 by winning the first Arab Cup. They defeated Egypt 4-0 in the final of the tournament and stamped their authority in the sport.

Morocco have also won three consecutive titles at the Africa Cup of Nations, earning them a spot at the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 in Uzbekistan.

FIFA released the first-ever Futsal World Ranking this year and Morocco ranked sixth in the international rankings. This certainly was a huge achievement for the Atlas Lions.

Morocco are placed in Group E at the World Cup and will be playing the reigning champions Portugal alongside Tajikistan and Panama in the group stage. They will play their first game in the event against Tajikistan on September 16 at the Humo Arena in Tashkent.

The highly anticipated FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 will be played from September 14 to October 6 in Uzbekistan. There will be a total of 24 teams competing for the ultimate laurel at the mega event. The teams are divided into 6 groups, with the top two teams from each group proceeding to the knockouts along with the four best third-place teams.
