Croatia Win Friendly Futsal Match Against Kosovo
Croatia defeated Kosovo 5-3 in a friendly Futsal match in Slavonski Brod in preparation of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan.
Croatia played a friendly against Kosovo on Saturday as part of the team’s preparations for the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024. Croatia were in complete control for most part of the game and won it 5-3 in the end.

The first half was completely dominated by Croatia, as they scored 4 goals and didn’t concede any. Tihomir Novak opened the scoring for Croatia in the third minute with a beautiful strike. Luka Peric and Franco Jelovcic made two quick strikes in the 10th minute to consolidate their lead. Novak struck back in the last minute before half-time to complete a brace.
Almost six minutes into the second half, David Mataja scored the fifth and final goal for Croatia. A minute later, Shefki Kameri and Ramadan Alaj scored two goals for Kosovo, giving them a ray of hope. Fitim Krasniqi scored the third and final goal for Kosovo in the 37th minute of the match.
Croatia are ranked 16th in the World and it reflected in their performance in this game against a relatively weaker opponent. Nevertheless, the warm-up fixture was good practice for the Croatian team, and they’ll be in better shape when they play the likes of Brazil, Thailand, and Cuba in the Futsal World Cup 2024 in a week’s time.
Croatia are in Group B at the FIFA Futsal World Cup and will begin their campaign against Thailand on September 14 in Bukhara.
