FIFA has revealed, XONTM, the official mascot for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024. It’s a Turanian Tiger that represents the regional and local heritage of the country and the speed and excitement synonymous with Futsal.
With the excitement building up around the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024, Fifa has named XONTM the Official Futsal World Cup Mascot for Uzbekistan 2024.
According to the officials, XON not only truly represents the fast-paced and thrilling nature of the sport, but it is also a perfect representation of the regional and local heritage of the host nation Uzbekistan.
The fascinating Turanian tiger signifies the spirit of the sport, reminding everyone of the fact that you can earn your place in the futsal community regardless of your ethnicity.
FIFA officials said that their Mascot choice was inspired by the unreal ability of the Turanian tigers to quickly hide, suddenly show up again, and then vanish in an instant with grace, power, and agility. These capabilities are often linked with the best Futsal players who skillfully maneuver through the tight spots to attack and defend on the futsal pitch.
The FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 will be a landmark achievement in FIFA’s commitment to making Futsal a global sport. The historic event will be the first-ever FIFA competition to be played in Central Asia. The 24-team tournament will be played between 14 September and 6 October across three venues in Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Bukhara, Andijan) and will feature the world’s top futsal teams and players hailing from all six confederations.
The first-ever FIFA event in Central Asia will also be the first-ever to feature five teams from the region, including Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, IR Iran, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. Among these, Tajikistan and Afghanistan will also be making their World Cup debut. The other newcomers at the event will be France and New Zealand.
