Futsal AFCON 2026: Morocco Thrash Egypt 6-0 to Set Up Angola Final

Morocco swept into a fourth consecutive Futsal AFCON final on Monday night, thrashing Egypt 6-0 in a semifinal rout at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall in Rabat.

The Atlas Lions set up the title decider against Angola, who beat Algeria 3-2 earlier in the day, and took another step toward an unprecedented fourth straight continental crown.

One-sided from the start

Soufiane Chaaraoui opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a volley after a mistake by the Egypt goalkeeper, and Ismail Amzal doubled the lead a minute later at the end of a flowing team move. Amzal added his second in the 15th minute after a VAR review, and Morocco were 3-0 up at the break.

There was no let-up after halftime. Bilal Bakkali made it 4-0 in the 22nd minute with a powerful strike into the top corner, before Chaaraoui completed his hat-trick with two more goals in the 31st and 38th minutes. It was a performance that showed exactly why Morocco sit top of the FIFA futsal rankings among African sides.

History beckons in the final

Morocco’s record at this tournament is staggering: four wins from four, 23 goals scored, and not a single goal conceded. If they keep a clean sheet in Wednesday’s final, they will become the first side in the history of the competition to go through an entire edition without conceding.

The final will also test Angola in a very different game from how futsal differs from soccer on the big stage — Morocco’s ruthless press against the comeback kings of this tournament.

Morocco face Angola at 8 PM local time on Wednesday, October 21, in Rabat. Victory would make the hosts the first team to win four successive Futsal AFCON titles.
